Leadership & Principal Advisory
Dr. Edwin Masese Machine brings over 20 years of global experience bridging epidemiological research, health systems strengthening, and executive implementation strategy across public agencies, academic medical centers, and international initiatives.
His career spans managing high-profile Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) funded by ExxonMobil, serving as a Technical Advisor for the CDC Foundation on Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Data for Health initiative, and leading large-scale HIV/AIDS and TB clinical implementation strategies across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Pacific. His operational track record includes spearheading electronic medical record (EMR) system rollouts across clinical networks serving over 7,000 patients and generating real-world evidence (RWE) to guide national health policy formulation.
An accomplished academic scholar-practitioner, Dr. Machine has held faculty appointments with Baylor College of Medicine, Kabarak University, and the University of Papua New Guinea’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In his current academic appointment with the University of Houston’s Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, he leads qualitative research and strategic planning initiatives to strengthen regional homeless response systems and health integration. He has trained health workforces through the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), mentored postgraduate thesis research, and taught graduate biostatistics and epidemiology. He holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.
